Bravado Corners
03 Mar
| As I mentioned last week, here’s the photo I chose for my collaboration with Kumani Gantt for the Spark Project (getsparked.org). The title comes from a line in her poem, “Stone Tablets”:
young girls poke their nonchalance into dawn,
the air thick with gum smack, cherry lips and smoke,
as beautiful boys bravado corners, their laughter affixed
to the boredom and bullets like cloaks
You can read the entire poem at Spark very soon, as well as read what she wrote inspired by my photo “8312″ from the Imagining Oscar series (http://imaginingoscar.blogspot.com/2009/07/8312.html). I’m excited to read it myself! | Bookmark the permalink. | Filed under Americana, New York City, Portraits, Urban Life and tagged city, men, New York City, poetry, urban, women.
